Wellness Wednesday: Being "Too Busy"
It's midweek, the perfect time to pause, breathe, and check in with yourself.
This week, I want to talk about rest and the deep-seated lie we believe that being "busy" equals being "valuable." We treat exhaustion like a badge of honor and see rest as a reward we have to earn, instead of a foundational requirement for strength.
Personally? I was once so focused on showing everyone how hard I was working that I completely missed the point of the work. I was busy, but unproductive. My best breakthrough moments came only after I forced myself to step away, be still, and let my mind reset.
Quote of the Week: "The time to relax is when you don't have time for it." —Sydney J. Harris
Here's the tip I'm leaning into this week: Schedule "White Space". This means putting a block on your calendar with NO agenda, no phone, and no email. Just silence for your mind to process.
Why it matters: This intentional pause lowers your cortisol, helps your nervous system reset, and restores the clarity and creativity you need to finish the week strong without collapsing into burnout.
Wellness Challenge: Practice being completely silent for 30 minutes today. Do not read, listen, or scroll. Just breathe.
Your Next Step Remember the comfort of this truth: "Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10). Your clarity is worth the stillness.
